How do I post public feedback through Elance?

Elance allows employers and providers to leave feedback about the experience they had working with one another on their job.

The 'Leave Feedback' link for the employer and the 'Request Feedback' link for the provider do not appear UNTIL the final milestone date on the Business Terms page or after the employer makes their first payment, whichever comes first.  Feedback can only be left once and cannot be removed or modified once submitted.

For employers, to leave feedback, please follow the steps below.

1. Login to the MyElance Main Menu.

If you are not logged in, enter your Elance username and password.

2. Click the 'Leave Feedback' Quick Links on the right margin.

3. Select the radio button to the left of the job name you want to leave feedback for, and click the Next button.  You will then be sent to the feedback review form.

Alternatively, you may also leave feedback from an individual job's Workroom.

NOTE: The 'Leave Feedback' link will not be displayed if a payment has not been paid, the final milestone date hasn't been reached or feedback has already been left.


For providers, to request or leave feedback, please follow the steps below:

1. Login to the MyElance Main Menu.

If you are not logged in, enter your Elance username and password.

2. Click the Workrooms > Working link on the left panel.

3. Click the 'Select Action' > 'Leave Feedback for Buyer' link, under the project status of the appropriate project to leave feedback.  You will then be sent to the feedback review form.

4. Click the 'Select Action' > 'Request Feedback' link of the appropriate project under the project status to have a notification sent to your buyer asking them to leave feedback about you.

NOTE: The 'Leave Feedback for Buyer' or 'Request Feedback' links will not be displayed if a payment has not been paid, the final milestone date hasn't been reached or feedback has already been left.


Employers will be able to rate the service provider's performance and leave comments. Service providers can only leave comments about the employer. After an employer submits feedback for a service provider, it will be displayed in the provider's profile within 24 hours after the provider pays the service fees for that job.

Feedback Expiration – Both parties have 60 days after the final milestone date to leave feedback.  This deadline is to ensure the feedback and ratings seen on an elancer's profile are based on recent experiences.
