How do I change the category or posting type of my job?

If you posted a job and want to change the category (for example, Writing & Translation to Web & Programming) or the posting type (for example, Standard Posting to Featured Posting), we suggest that you cancel the job and repost it to the correct category or posting type.

To cancel a job, please follow the step below.

1. Login to the My Elance Main Menu.

If you are not logged in, enter your Elance username and password.

2. Click the Workrooms link on the left panel.

3. Click the name of the project.

4. Click 'Settings' in the section to the right of the job name.

5. If the bidding period has not ended, click the 'End Bidding Now' button. 

6. Next, go back to the Settings tab, and click the 'Cancel Project' button.  You will be asked to enter the reason for canceling the job, so that we can provide some feedback to the service providers who submitted proposals.

NOTE: The fee to submit a Feature Posting is not refundable if you cancel the project and resubmit it as a Standard Posting.
